big parties are the suck. packed bars are the suck. bars' expensives are the suck.

hanging out with a group of good friends and some girls, killing a few cases at beer pong or sipping on your own drinks is where it is at. could possibly happen at a bar, but i love the laid back drinking with friends and small get together or functions, etc.

I'm with Ken. We're the experts, so believe us. But I think they taste like shit.

Beer makes me feel warm and special on the inside. If I'm doing liquor, shots of whatever seem to work.

        i'm all about whiskey.

jack/makers mark on the rocks... old standard jack n' coke... i keep some Single Barrel here at home stashed deep...

check this out, just came to learn about this a few weeks ago... jack on the rocks, and add just a splash of Sprite. i thought it sounded bad, but surprisingly it was most excellent - scary though as it simply removes most of the whiskey burn and makes it a devil drink.

        beer? Warsteiner ftw.

You got it. Pretty damn good too.

I don't really drink hard-a much, so I don't have a favorite drink, but I like my drink to have some kick to it when I do.

Preferably a 1:1 mix of Red Bull and Jagermeister. Straight Jager will do, it builds character.

When I feel like putting in the extra effort, I have yet to make a White Russian that I didn't like. And I believe that Dark and Stormy's will ultimately be my preferred ride on the road to alcoholism.

Warsteiner? Are you serious? I guess I'm just spoiled as Portland, OR is the microbrew capitol of the world.

Another day... another mention from Ken about microbreweries in Portland.

From a cocktail bartenders point of view:

Trainwreck: Shot of jager floated in a glass of redbull, down in one.

English Rose: 30ml gin, 10ml strawberry liqueur, 10ml rasberry liqueur, 4-5blended strawberries. Shake and strain into a martini glass, and top with 30ml of chilled Pinot Noir Rose.

Lush Kiss: 30ml 42below passionfruit vodka, 15ml peach liqueur, 15ml mango liqueur, 30ml blended peach, 30ml pineapple juice, 15ml lime/lemon juice. Blend with ice and garnish with a maraschino cherry.

Manhatten: 60ml CC whiskey, 10ml sweet vermouth, a few drops of agnostura bitters, stir and strain, then garnish with a cherry.

Foxy Brown: 1/2 jager 1/2 butterscotch liqueur, down in one.

Emerald: 1/2 42below Feijoa vodka, 1/2 apple sourz, a squeeze of lime juice.

Jade: 30ml 42below Feijoa vodka, pulp of 1/2 a kiwifruit, half a lime cut up, shake and strain, and top with gingerbeer.

Chocolate Monkey: 20ml Baileys, 20ml Kahlua, 20ml Brown creme de Cacao liqueur, half a banana, alot of creme. Blend with ice, and serve in a catalina glass with a swirl of chocolate sauce around the inside of the glass.

                    More later if you're interested.

                        Microbrews, Meh.

Before Prohibition, Cincinnati was the Brewing capital of the Country due to the large German population.

The microbrew thing came and went here years ago. There were several local ones and quite a few up the road in Columbus.

We do have the Munich Hofbrauhaus here now. Now that is good stuff, and an awesome place to go with a big group, eat like a pig and drink yourself silly. I think they have them in Vegas and St. Louis now, too.

what kind of lime "juice" do you use for vodka and lime? would just regular lime pop do the trick or should it be lime juice?

Gin and Tonic when I go downtown or Cranberry Vodka at home...because they take 10 seconds to make.
