My sister brought back a bottle of 180 proof Absinthe when she went to Europe this last summer. It was black, and she pretty much had a seizure when she tried it. It was the most disgusting drink I had ever tried.

I got a bottle of 120 proof from the Czech Republic that was the normal bright green color...it was actually not too bad. The thujone content was to EU standards though, so nothing crazy.

When I got home from that trip, my friends and I made some of our own with vodka, everclear, and the other assorted ingredients from Green Devil. It was a lot more potent and the thujone content was something like 8x the EU regulation. It was interesting to say the least. Tasted horrible though.
