Quick and dirty pic. My Breitling SuperOcean i picked up when it first came out. I also have another Breitling (B2) but i dont wear it as much and may just sell it.
well I kinda lied too you, there are some invcta's that do use a Swiss ETA 28XX series movement and the ETA 7750 auto chrono movement, but those are much more costly... From what I have seen those with swiss movements in them you will know it they advertise and make it well known, that particular watch has a Swiss heart
Will I agree with you just because its old tech does not mean its "junk or that new is better", I relearning fast that maybe my grandpa and great uncle might have been on to something doing lots of shit the OLD school way......
Negative Invitacs (along with most all the other that utilize cheap asian mechanical movements) are Miyota movements which is a division of Citizen NOT Seiko. While they have some decent movements I have no real personal experience with them. Seiko is all in house movements, and I dont think they sell to other manufactures that I know of
ahh good to know! I was surprised when I read that so that makes sense.
Hope you have small girlish wrists, as thats prolly only a 32-34mm case. I have had a couple older 50's era seamaster's and they are very very small and dont look right that are about the same size.. Old american made Bulova though nothing wrong with that at all
Will you should have been born about 1942 from your taste in cars and most everything else you know that....
My Omega Seamaster is small, and yes its a '50s era one. I kinda like the small case. The wrist band however is just barely big enough. I like mechanical watches from the '20s to about the early '70s. I've been looking at Seikos and Longines of a similar age as well. I kinda like the Seiko Marvels. They seem to be affordable as well.
Yes, I was born in the wrong era, I know this. Do I care? Not really. Newer things aren't necessarily better, just newer.

just bought this invicta
put a black nylon band I had lying around on it:
it basically looks exactly like a rolex submariner but I can live the obvious style rip off when it cost me little more than 100 and cleans up pretty nice. Plus I'm pretty sure its got a seiko movement in it.

My latest time piece. I have not bought a watch for my self in years.... though the wife kinda bought this one for me. Think I am going to stick with this vintage Seiko stalking kick for a while. Next one I think I will be hunting for is prolly going to be a limited production 68-69 Seiko GMT
This is 1977 Seiko 6138-3002 "Jumbo" because of its 43.5mm case diameter thats HUGE in 1977..... the 6138 movement is a auto chrono, and one of the few Seikos you can hand wind as well, this movement was used in many other similar style watches from 71-79 IIRC. I am going to DD this for a while, so far seems to be holding time well, and the chronograph is spot on. Once I get my 007 back from service I will prolly send this one out for a re-lume of the bezel and hands, a general service and light restoration if need be and re align the bezel and dial. Its got a few nicks and scratches on the case but all in all not too bad for a sub 350 dollar Auto chrono that is 36 years old.
1985? Tag Heuer 2000
Love it even though its battery driven.
Did some research on it apparently its kinda rare? wrist band only says Heuer on it. Anybody know what its worth? bought it off some guy in Canada on ebay awhile ago.
