is it possible to do so without having to remove the steering column pieces? i heard you just have to insert a pin into a little slot that appears after turning the key position 1?
The hole is accessible on late models (where the metal meets the round black trim piece) but IIRC you have to remove the steering column pieces on early models.
It doesn't actually appear, the tumbler just needs to be turned before the hole lines up with the internal release mechanism.
