i used to use the weather widget....found out it was using something like 15mb of memory...uninstalled it.

15mb of memory and you're afraid you can't spare it?!

Wrong. If you had ever touched a Mac you would know that widgets and spyware are 2 very different things.

Really? I consider TSR's & spyware to be autorunning programs that hog up CPU time & bandwidth. That sure sounds like a "widget" as described by you guys.

I've never had a widget hog bandwidth or CPU time, just memory. Regardless, if you know what you're doing in Unix, you can disable them.

I just find it funny that TSRs & Spyware, long considered the bane of the PC universe are considered the "hot" thing in the mac world now.

Yeah, Macs are the hot trendy thing today. I wish people who bought them knew what they could do with them.
