reasons like this are why i hate having internet at home. I am just trying to play spaceships or shooty boys online but nooooooo~ now some watery tart wants to play the ukulele for me while i stare at her bosoms.

A lesson in focus, perhaps. Huxley was right.

I enjoy the site from time to time but once the internet started converging with real life I was turned off. My buddy has a Chive shirt and some dudebro walked up to him in public and shouted, yes SHOUTED, "CHIVE ON BRO!" My buddy responded with "Chive on" to the guy which in turn made any respect I had for him disappear. I have been turned off ever since due to their enthusiasm.

This made me laugh. Its happened to me a few times. I wore my BFM (Bill Fucking Murray), a T-shirt sold by the chive, to the bar friday night. The bouncer told me the bar tender was a big chive fan. I expected some bro'd out dude with a gelmet. Turned out to be a 5'7" brunette bomb shell would proceeded to give and my friend free drinks. The shirt has already paid for itself.

Same here. I saw people wearing chive on shirts and just thought they were really huge fans of made up news. I couldn't have been more wrong.

I thought the same thing. I still don't fully understand the whole 'community' part of the site but it seems like a big deal to chivers. I was feeling sick all day yesterday so I spent some time on there. It was pretty cool.

As for being proud of not knowing something, I don't get that. Who wants to be proud to not know something? I may not approve of something but being proud of not knowing about it is just pride in ignorance...

Also, found out this cute saleswoman at work is a chiver while creeping her fb (don't judge me). Might get a chive mug to sit on my desk as a convo starter. Again, don't judge me, I know it's creepy.

I'm right there with you. At first I thought it was kind of funny but, I see that shit all the time now. I used to use the chive but, then I found Reddit and then everything was a downward spiral from there.

To all the nonbelievers, The Chive is more than a blog about hot girls, cool shit, or memes.

It is a community of people with the same idealology about life. That is: have fun, respect our military, and help those in need. Through various fundraisers and events, they have raised awareness for illnesses, raised money for people in need and charities, and provides stress relief for our serving military men.

I am an avid chiver, and go out of my way to help contribute to the site and the Chive community.

Me, a few days ago after I landed a new job and was about to play some scenario paintball. KCCO
