From 5.0 e30, to e34, to.... Town Car?

Just had a long conversation with my Grandfather this evening, and he offered me something that could seriously help out our financial situation.

He has a 95 Lincoln Town Car that is in excellent condition. Garage kept, 80k on the clock. He is due to renew the registration in 2 months, and doesn't want to spend the $200. Apparently it hasn't had 500 miles put on it since I changed the oil.... Almost 2 years ago!

Anyway, he offered the car to me as a gift.

So I spoke with my wife, and here is what is most likely going to happen. She is going to let me sell her sunfire, and I can take that money to pay off some debt. The catch? She gets my E34, and I'll drive the Town Car.

Daddy mode is hitting me hard core. I really don't want to give up the E34, but I could really use the cash from selling the Sunchicken.

    Any words of wisdom?

Before anyone suggests it, selling the TC is out of the question.

Thats sucks, but wifeys got to look good rollin to right? I'd just take the town car & just suck it up. Or sell the town car & get something you really like. Unless your granddad disagrees

She's not comfortable driving something that big, she already doesn't particularly enjoy the E34 due to it's size.

Honestly it's not like I'd really be giving up the E34... I just worry about her not being as careful as I am when she uses it for a DD. It is sitting on BC coilovers and the rims poke a good bit. (curbs)

Anyone have any e34 stock wheels laying around? That would make this all the easier, so when the time comes I can have my car back in the same shape I left it in.

Honestly that's where I'm leaning too. Though it isn't really sucking it up, that TC is extremely nice to drive. It just doesn't get me hard like these old bimmer's do!

Oh I know that feeling well. Nothing like cruising in the pops drop top Eldorado, but cant get my peepee wet when im in an aggressive driving mood.

i'd put your wife in the town car. its likely safer, comfier, and quieter than your e34.

Just need to put in the biggest Broadway mirror you can find & plaster the side with fisheyes! Makes anyone a more confident driver when the can actually see whats around them

I used to own a 95 tow car signature series. One of the nicest cars to ever drive. I loved taking it on long drives to the country and back. I miss it.

You won't regret having it. Especially if its free. It really is an awesome car and can outrun your e34.

                          +1

not to mention better fuel economy, and cheaper parts that are easier to source.
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

I daily a saturn and have a $700 honda as backup. I just got married, own a house, pay on my wives student loans, I'm currently a full time student. I sold all my expensive debt inducing toys, big trucks choppers ect. to pay off debt. Even with all the stuff I deal with I now can enjoy throwing the spare cash at my e30 and not feel guilty.

Cut the springs and tint the windows on the TC and roll deep bro, it's just the season of life you're in, it won't last forever.

having driven several e34's, and owned many e30's and e28's, i'd drive the town car.

my daily is a crown vic, its an amazingly comfortable car, so much room inside. the town car is 98% identical, except it rides even smoother and the seats are softer.
