Mustang says, "Danger to the manifiold!"

Well sort of.... Nitrous explosion. No one was hurt thankfully.

The summer heat is not only taking a toll on our electricity. It also took a toll on someone's prized possession. A Midland neighborhood was shook up on Wednesday afternoon when a Mustang was blown apart.

And what explanation do we have as to why the tank exploded? Just heat? Is this common for nitrous?

If the nitrous didn't explode the engine probably would have.

      Good thing no-one got hurt.

I wonder what the side of that Mercury looks like.

Whoever built that tank is in for a treat.

Should have had a relief valve, and a blast disc to prevent this.

Or maybe it was rigged for teh insurance moneys?

Better ban high pressure home tanks now.

Would insurance cover such a modification malfunctioning?

I doubt it, unless it was declared to them, which there is very little chance of. I read that story on Jalopnik a couple weeks ago or so. It was chalked up to heat+lack of a functioning vent.

                  Figured.

Suckssss to be him. Lucky lucky some piece of debris didn't hit someone or he'd be in even deeper.

Also, how does TX law look on having a pressurized container like that in a car?

As long as the engine is OK, I don't see why it wouldn't be, he should be able to grab another Fox body for a couple grand and swap everything over, but still not a fun position to be in.
