    Off to Greenville, SC

In a couple weeks, I'm heading out to Greenville, SC for a 4 month co-op. I will be staying in an apartment complex with no place to do any real car repair myself.:x Currently my DD (and only vehicle) is an m52 swapped 91 325i. It'll make the trip no problem, but it's not what I would call a "finished" project just yet. I have been very fortunate to have a great relationship with an independent shop here and, because of this, I have had plenty of confidence driving only my e30.

So, can anyone recommend a good place to check out in the Greenville area? Or, even better (but a long shot), does anyone know of someplace that might let me use their facilities and resources to do the work myself? I might just resort to offering dinner/drinks to people on r3v who let me use their stuff.

Post this in the southeast regional section, you'll probably get better hits. I've heard there's a pretty decent and chill euro scene down there though, so you should be able to find something. Good luck!

I did this for years. The one thing I love about e30's is there's no where you can't work on them. I did a 5spd swap in my apt complex in the rain because my auto went out.

They wont care if you handle it quickly and cleanly.

I totally get that, but I'd rather form some decent relationships with other enthusiasts and have the right resources available than struggle away on my own with what few tools will fit in the car along with all my other worldly possessions. While I was down there I did see a shop with a couple of older BMWs outside so I'm thinking I'll try to find that again.
