You're right, I should've started with the Chaparrals. I didn't want too long a list though and wasn't sure if road legalness was taken into consideration (everything there except the MkIV GT40 could be road-registered). Hmm, I guess a Cheetah could be too.

guess it would have to be the '74 2002 turbo
The U.S. didn't make a single good car I can think of that year.

I'm a sucker for two cars, they will always be my dream cars. I didn't even have to think about this question, they are that potent in my memory. Can't replace these in my mind.

Haha, I do think I'm in the minority there. That's the special super-high-power motor in the last of the McLarens that was their effort to outdo the Porsche 917/30, right? AGH, I could've included the Shadow DN4!

Haha yeah, the DN2 was one of those "it looked good on paper...." ideas. Minimum frontal area concept. Downsides of that being severely reduced front braking/turning capability. The wheelbase was also a bit short for all that power. They definitely made up for it with the DN4 though. Most drivers of the era agreed that it was faster even than the Porsche, although they unfortunately never competed against each other due to Porsche's unceremonious ban from Can-Am after 1973.
