From north Florida to Nashville to Missouri and back to visit a couple of friends and my ailing grandmother. I have all the time in the world and have made the trip several times, but never in the e30. I'm wanting to deviate from the normal path and see new sights. Maybe get in some good mountain driving. Anyone have any suggestions of territory to go through?

definitely the tail of the dragon and the cherohala skyway. I've driven it in an E46 M3 with DSC on but I cant imagine how fun/dangeorus it would be in an E30. Western North Carolina/ Southern Tennessee has amazing roads- basically anywhere you drive through there you can expect a desolate, twisty road.
Be careful though, I recommend bringing a GPS at the least to view the sharpness of corners when driving unknown fun roads. We never drove the tail of the dragon before, but we had an iPad opened to maps and we can pretty much determine how fast or slow to take each corner as they were approaching. Be wary of motorcycles though, they're all over the tail. Not so much the Cherohala Skyway. Stay within your lane always.Last edited by lolcantturn; 08-24-2013, 05:04 PM.Originally posted by TSI♫ Rust flecks are falling on my head...♫OEM+ -

Exactly what I had in mind. Also answers my question if people frequently e30 the tail.
Pensacola to be exact.
Well I was planning on September, but I'm flexible. I will be in South Florida the last week of October, when is the Brodeo?Derek-Comment

From personal experience:
Tail of the dragon and the surrounding area.
Great Smoky mountain range
Meriwether Lewis campground (Camp there, it's free)
Lake Ozark
Just to name a couple.Comment
