    I may have err'd here. I'm in gas land with emissions, but diesel, IMO, is better, bang for buck, mpg, etc, emissions, etc that gasoline.

    No, they most certainly are not when it comes to diesel. Euro regs allow a much higher particulate count amongst other things, IE: it's dirty. It's why the US systems are resorting to the urea injection and such. Just because jim bob runs a power commander on his Ram 3500 and runs a tune that belches soot doesn't mean it would pass emissions.
