This sounds a great deal like southern Canada...
    That's what I was thinking.

    Snowboard jacket? Maybe.
There's clothes for standing around and there's clothes for being active.

Remember this: It's easier to stay warm than to get warm.
Dress up for the worst possible conditions then de-layer. Your snow boarding jacket goes on top as the wind breaker.

    (Hey! California! No "wind-breaking" jokes.)

But the real question is, when are you going there? The coldest time is late January into Feb. The snowiest times are pretty much January and March.

Appleton doesn't really have that much for rednecks. That's Shawano... Or Eland.... Or Thorpe.. Or...

Dress in layers, you can always shed or add them as needed. The Midwest is great, most people are really nice.

But actually the only real bad part is having to shovel the heavy white shit, other then that its ok.

If your snowboard jacket is a good brand it will be fine, I have a Burton DryRide that left me cozy even with just a T-Shirt (then again im midwest warm blooded so i could be in a t shirt without the jacket lol).

Things to bring: Camera (cool snow pics yo)
    laptop (you will get bored)

expect lots of redneck like people, but most are really nice.
    OK COOL thanks!
