My Pops had a Baby ray sting him when he was out fishing on the pier. He's technologically challenged so he tried to sleep it off.

Hopped on the web and 5mins later had his had in the sink full or hot water. Was good in 20mins.

But the foot ouch. If I ever catch a ray im not going to mess with it...

Funny, the only time I was ever stung by a sting ray was in Termalane (sp) down by the La Jolla cove. Rode the wave in, jumped off to paddle back out and BAM!
I thought i stepped on broken glass. Still surfed for another hour though. When we were walking back up the beach my friend pointed out I was leaving blood in the sand so we went to the life guard station and he told me it was a sting ray. Soaked my foot in hot water and said good luck.

I still have a scar on my instep.

Haha LJ Shores beach is crawling with them.

Went to the hospital earlier this afternoon and got home 30 mins ago.
They opened up my wound and cleaned it out.
Said it might get infected too, so I'm on antibiotics for the next week or so.

CONS: Can't row or train for over a week and it's the week before school when there are tons of parties with freshman cuties

It's right down the street from me. I literally live on La Jolla Village blvd, and last year I lived on North Torrey so I am only a few blocks from Shores.

If I could I'd hit up PB or MB. I also enjoy the occasional North county, aka Encinitas/Del Mar.

Haha nice! Great place to live mate! Im studying to go to UCSD and working at Beaumonts in Bird Rock. I was living in allied gardens across the 8 from state but after my car crash Im back in Scripps Ranch with the parents :(

All we have in the ocean here to mess you up are Jellyfish and fuck those things in particular. Weird ass no central nervous system having little fuckers. I remember once taking a family trip to PEI when I was a kid and the beach was actually littered with dead ones washed up on shore. Gross.
