This. I've met Ferrari owners who were cool as shit, and POS car owners who are douchey. It's about respect really, and having respect for other people's opinions and what they value.

just another way that humanity's tendency towards tribalism manifests itself.

"my gang, yay! your gang, boo."

I once was told that if you were to listen in on an "argument" between two highly intelligent beings, that neither will be hostile or irrational, but rather humble, and will either agree to disagree, or one will side with the other.

That person that is yapping on about their LS Camaro is, well... You get the point. Don't let that type of stuff bother you and get under your skin, not that it seems like it has, but just as a kind word of advice. Swallowing your pride and admitting that you are wrong, something else is better, or someone else is better is probably the most valuable attribute a man can have.

This. And why care what others think of your possessions?

started a topic Domestic owners: y u so madbro?

Domestic owners: y u so madbro?

Before I begin, I have nothing against domestic cars, especially muscle cars. I think they are the pinnacle of America's identity when it comes to cars.

Tonight, I posted a few pictures of my M20 build on Facebook and it was met with lots of likes and responses that were positive. Well, a negative nancy had to chime in with his elitist attitude and say, "that's cute" and begin to brag about his LS camaro. This didn't particularly upset me at all but it made me think of one question:

Why do domestic owners feel the need to just absolutely try and get into a pissing match with import vehicles? To me, that is like going to a bar and trying to start a fight with a guy half my size.

I grew up around domestics, particularly Fords (my dads '69 Mustang coupe was my first real automotive exposure). I never had any hate for either side. I may bust balls about the small quirks some companies have but I never became a self-righteous bigot when it came down to it. I just never understood how people call themselves enthusiasts, but absolutely have to shit on anything that isn't made by their favorite brand of vehicle of country of origin.
