Great trucks. I had a 94 Rodeo with the Isuzu V6. The only SUV I would own above the Rodeo would be what I have now: 3rd Gen 4Runner.

New rubber installed. 2 inch coil spacers are scheduled to be delivered today.
I've decided the frame is too far gone to save. But I have gone over the body with a fine tooth comb and have not found a single spot of rust.
My plan of attack at this point is to get one of those pesticide sprayers, and coat the entire undercarriage in a 50/50 mix of kerosene and used motor oil once a month during the winter, and every oil change in the summer. That should slow down the rot for a few years until I can find a replacement frame, and have a house with a garage to do the project in.Last edited by Exodus_2pt0; 11-11-2013, 10:19 AM.No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.

Oddly enough, this thing doesn't leak a drop of oil.
Got the 2 inch spacers installed tonight. The torsion bars adjusted easily enough for a 20 year old truck. Then when I got the spacers installed I thought it looked funny, so I had to do it again to move the spacers to the top of the springs. Still had a 2 inch lift accomplished in an hour and a half.
I'll post updated photo's tomorrow.
I also think my auto hubs are stuck in the locked position. I have a very strange groan at 55mph, which goes away at 60mph, and comes back at 65 mph.
Really wishing I still had access to a lift so I could put it into 4wd and run it up to 55mph in the air.No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.

Also...truck on train lift. Do it. Now.

Good point on jack stands. That will work to see if the hubs are unlocking.
Still would love to be able to get it up to speed in the air and find the source of the sound. No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.

Looks great! I'm curious to see it with the 2" lift... it seems like the tires were fitting fine without a lift. Were you getting enough articulation that you're hitting wheel well? Or you just want to be a little higher? I don't know much about these Troopers, but it seems like you could probably clear 33's after a 2" lift.
If you want a more aggressive stance, grab some 1.5" or 2" wheel spacers. They'll do wonders, and they give you a great mud spray pattern on the side of the vehicle.

Yea the clearance was fine, I just wanted the extra 2 inches for preference.
I could fit some 33 inch tires now but then I weould definitely have to regear. The 32s robbed a noticeable amount of power without making it useless. But any bigger and the highway would be unbearable.
I'll snap some photos in the morning. It sits just right in my eyes now. Perfect height with the 2 inches without sacrificing reliability. No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.

As promised.
Before:
After:
2 inch lift, 265/75r16.
I do need to find a perfectly level spot and measure out the heights. I think the right front may be sitting a half inch high. Ideally I would like the rear a half inch higher than the front, that way when it is loaded up it won't be sagging in the rear.Last edited by Exodus_2pt0; 11-13-2013, 09:36 PM.No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.

Well my brand new tires are already feathering. So tonight I took a good look at the front end. Noticeably toed in on the right side.
Propane torch, pipe wrench, adjustable, tape measure + 15 minutes = Good enough. Drives straight, no more noise at 55mph, whole different truck.
And yes, I will be taking it to be aligned this weekend. No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.
