    Why is it that

On Craigslist, nearly nobody lists a price for their cars for sale, especially dealers? I don't care how much I like it, if there's no price listed, I'm just going to skip it.

If you're just going to skip over something because it doesn't have a price....

Then you aren't trying hard enough. Do you really expect a great deal to just be handed to you? For fucks sake put some effort into life.

Has nothing to do with effort or laziness. Classifieds 101 - YOU LIST A GODDAMN PRICE FOR WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO SELL! If not, then you apparently don't want to sell it very bad. Just browsing CL for E46 prices trying to see what stuff is going for isn't even possible, because almost none of them have a price listed.

It has everything to do with laziness.

How much effort does it take to pick up a phone, punch in 10 digits, and speak to someone?

Craigslist isn't R3V, and deals don't always start with a price.

Pick up the phone and call one of those priceless adds for a car you are interested in. You just might learn some valuable bartering skills in the process.

Or just keep taking the easy road, and be unsatisfied.

Lulz. You know absolutely nothing about me. You want me to call 150 places and write down 150 different prices, keep them aligned with the cars, and start price comparing. I'm NOT looking to buy one right now. I'm price shopping, and trying to learn the market. Not listing a price is lazy, stupid, and scandelous on their part. Sales isn't new to me. I know WHY they don't list a price, it's so the salesman can talk you into coming to look at it over the phone, and then try to pressure you into the sale in person. I'm just bitching because it's annoying.

Where the hell did you get anything about trying to 'get a deal' come from? Did you read something out of thin air? 'dafuq outta here

Oh I don't know, maybe your first post?

              Yup.

              Better luck next time kid.

Oh and just for the record. Asking prices are not a good reference to real market value. Market value is often a significant amount less than asking prices, making asking prices a null and void reference for what you should pay.

Well, I meant to type 'dealers'. My bad.

Well that changes things, and you already expressed the exact reason why dealers don't advertise asking prices.

                  /thread.

                    Sorry

And I know the difference between sales prices, and asking prices. It's a good starting reference though.

OMG. This is OT. I wasn't looking for a statistical analysis of my post. I should have expected this, but.....I didn't. Figured I could rant, but I guess not.

What's with everyone ragging on the OP as if this doesn't piss off everyone? Although I personally don't really see too many cars without asking prices.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30
