Looks good but a bit out of the price range. I was in a pickle between the cyren and the oontz. Chose the cyren because it uses a micro usb. Will write review!

At work we make cases for a lot of the bluetooth speakers and to be 100% honest, the mini bose soundlink is the best sounding speaker I've heard for the price. http://www.amazon.com/Bose-SoundLink...mini+soundlink I know it costs a bit more but it's worth it. Incredible sound from such a small little speaker.

I agree. I normally stay away from BOSE, but this unit really is the best on the market.

I LOVE the Jambox. That thing, seriously puts out some sound for such a little package. I've heard the Dknight next to it, and it isn't even remotely in the same league.

                Seriously.

But I still won't buy one, and won't recommend it. Even for $124 for a grey one on amazon, not worth it to me. Might consider snatching that Oontz myself. Always been a fan of Cambridge Soundworks.

I love my Braven. Great sound, looks great, links easily, and they have a pretty nice range of products now.

I've heard only good things about them!

So I recently received the Photive Cyren and had couple of days of playing around.

Size: This is more small-midsize comparing to other portable bluetooths. Oontz and jambox esque. Small enought to fit in my loaded backpack or in a girly's purse.

Sound/volume: I've been listening to all sorts of music to stretch out its legs including: Pretty Lights/Griz, Ratatat/Wolfgang Gartner/Deadmau5, Lynyrd Skynyrd/Metallica, classical, Del/Ice Cub/Cypress hill/Dre and the likes.

Was pretty impressed with the sound and it can play all genres of music pretty well. The highs are very pronounced and are crisp while being 'warm' in the lower octaves. Since none of these speakers are capable of producing bass the lower mid region is there enough to balance out the spectrum. The HUGE factor in how it sounds is the quality of the music. Dirty mp3's will be obvious and degrade dramatically at full tilt.

The volume adjustments on the top are great. Once you hit the max volume it lets you know with a small chirp. As long as the source isn't crazy hushed, you can hear this while on the field while throwing the football pretty well with a lot of ambient noise to boot. A note to point out is that off axis response isn't the greatest. Sure you'll hear everything while crazy off axis or behind but for it to sound great you have to be in the line of fire.

Bluetooth: The bluetooth has good range. People review to about 30-35 feet and I'd have to agree. While pooing I can change songs and volume with the unit two rooms away but no going through lead walls and the likes lol.

Etc: The carrying bag isn't too awkward and you also get a micro usb to usb charging cord. The outer shell is a slightly malleable rubber that gives good grip and protection against harsh or slippery surfaces.

                    Over all impression: Fuck yeah.
