Any plans for alternative functions? I for one could use the oil pressure, temp, and voltage, but being N/A don't really need boost or wideband.

there is no difference between Android OS for phones and tablets... nothing stopping you from installing on a tablet if you have one.past:

decay is correct, the gauges will resize to fit any screen. Here's a snap of it on a Nexus 7:Love the idea but not with the idea of using a Phone (it's too small and people tend to text/talk/navigate). Wouldn't this be better suited for an Android tablet? Can we display all of the gauges at once on a tablet? I have seen people replacing their Navigation and stereo head unit with Tablets tethered to their phones for internet. With your device, having the ability to display large aux gauges would be awesome. It would be like a carputer. Brilliant idea.

I order all of the components through mouser..it never occurred to me to look at the enclosures they offer. This is great, thanks.Originally posted by NitroRustlerDriverLots of enclosure options here:

Down the road for sure. As it stands it's a view of the data, I'd like to include engine speed and perform some basic data logging against the current sensors over time. That's a little ways out though. the first step is porting the app to iOS which from the feedback it looks like I should have gone that route first.Originally posted by matthugieAny plans for alternative functions? The only delay you should see is the 50ms delay between readings. This gives the ADC on the chip a chance to move between querying all five sensors which is where the "20 times a second" comes from. There is no delay between sending the data from the controller and receiving/displaying the data on the gauges.Comment

Very happy to hear that! I'm knee deep in development on the iOS version now, I'll be sure to keep you and the rest updated when it's available.
The controller will be identical for both the Android and iOS however the Bluetooth chip will use the newer Bluetooth Low Energy since Apple has been using that technology since the iPhone 4s came out - Android just started supporting BLE in Android 4.3. At this point the iOS app successfully connects to the controller and transmits data, next is building the gauge views to accurately reflect the data.
By the way if anyone wants to see under the hood both apps are open source, feel free to follow me on GitHub here: https://github.com/mikemey01. Right now only the Android version is committed (ChariotGauge repo) but I'll get the iOS version up there once it's a little further along.Comment

All of the gauges are drawn programmatically for now so it's difficult to use outside resources. However this opens up the ability for user modification down the road so who ever uses the app could customize it to match their interior or whatever they want to do.
Not in the immediate future. The only current plans are to maintain the Android version and get the iOS version completed/on the app store.Originally posted by dustyperezanyway to get the gauges on a pop out screen? like from alpine or something of the nature?Comment
