shoot, should I have done something more?

At about 4:30 (in the afternoon!!) i was on my way home and as im coming up to merge onto the freeway this guy almost hits me, i just thought ok whatever he was going to change lanes then saw me. So i merge in behind him and in a few seconds it was clear he was drunk as fuck. He was out of his lane more then he was in it. Imagine someone that is so drunk they cant stand, driving. So i get up along side him, while making sure to stay as far away from him as possible, and its some redneck in a tank top with tatoos all over him. So i drop back and I'm about to call 911 cause i didnt know who else to call, when i see an officer merging onto the freeway. I guess the drunk fuck did too cause he went in to the exit lane to get off the near exit. I dont know what the police officer was doing to not see this guy driving in the shoulder but he is soon behind me, so i pull to the right lane and as he is passing I franticly wave but i guess he thought i was just waving to be nice becuae he kept on going. I feel pretty bad now, and like i should have tried to do something else? i just hope he didnt kill anyone

sounds like that you did all that you could. I wouldn't sweat it. Hopefully that guy will be in jail soon enough.

I would have called and told them the number of the police car you saw, so dispatch could radio directly to him. I fucking hate drunk drivers.

This guy did more than most people would do. Besides, I'm sure that between dodging the drunk guy and calling the cops he didn't have much time to read the swerving letters.

I was on the phone with 911 when I got rear-ended by a drunk/drugged driver.
He'd been following me for ~2 miles.
Tried to contest in court... Prosecutor played my 5+ minute phone call to 911 dispatch, and well that was the end of that case.

I would have still called the police/911, but I wouldnt worry about it. At least you made an effort to begin with.
