    E34 touring yes or no

I am thinking of getting another car so I have an extra vehicle and be able to do some bigger projects on the e30.

I have been looking at E34 tourings but I don't want to get myself into another project and I dont want to spend a bunch on maintenance repairs since that will take away from the e30.

I was also thinking about getting a 1993-1997 Isuzu Rodeo with a 5 speed I used to have one and they are pretty reliable and cheap & easy to work on

E34 is gonna be a lot like a big E30 with more bushings in the front end to replace and given your climate and age, they will likely be dried out and should be replaced. When it comes to 20 year old BMWs you should know what you're getting into regardless of model.

style 5's on an e34 touring look pretty damn good.

do you have a family? the problem with getting an extra 20 year old car is that you just doubled your expenses. everything you want to replace on the e30 will likely need to be done on the e34 too.

they are cool cars for sure. are you ok with the expense? if the answer is yes, then i say get it.

We have an 05 suburban that my wife drives and we use as a family vehicle

neither the e30 or the e34 would be driven a lot

I want to spend 3000 or less but I can't really think of anything else

I bought a 92 525it for $1000, put almost $2500 in parts into it. The tranny had issues when I bought it. Mine had 180k on the clock.

I had 2 E30's prior to getting this beast, it is quite different. I feel like it needs moar power... it's kinda of a dog even with the single vanos

                    Look out for...

SLS, very expensive rear shocks unless you do a delete, which I did, still same ride height, kit available

I'd make sure you confirm bushing replacements, esp in the rear, those dog bones are not easy

check that dbl sunroof for operation, it's a bitch to service

if you havent seen this, check it out, https://www.bmwe34.net/E34main/Maint...uring_main.htm

if possible, get the compression numbers

It looks super clean and sexy, good luck with your search

Yes, just bought one & I had an E30 touring as well. This is larger, quieter and smoother than the E30.

Solid examples can be had for cheap if you don't mind aesthetic issues like rust. Front end parts are pricey, and it'll most likely need RSB's sooner than later.
