Look what I test drove today

Well made, not as spacey as a Leaf. Suicide doors. Lots of power.
    Ridiculous price tag.

BMW i3, fully electric (range extender optional w/ a small motor).
They price out at like $45-55k depending on options.

Yep. This one is without the range extender.
Fun fact: tire size 155/70 R19
It was very icy outside and the car did well. Traction control is very restrictive and can't be turned fully off.
But I would love to do a lap at a track. This car is much sportier than the iOns and Leafs and stuff.

Some guy just wrecked a i8 on the Autobahn. Looked BAD.

Average new 3 series is around the same price. With the i3 you also get tax credits and stuff depending on where you live. The car is surprisingly quick and handles well for what it is.

My dealership got two of them for a week. One to drive, one in the showroom.

                        It drives great. Potent sonuvabitch.

It's no e30, but can you really compare the two?

I don't think I can honestly say because of the icey roads and short test drive.
One thing I do know is the torque "punch" is nice. Especially wierd though when all you hear is a hissing noise. Something similar to taking off in a commercial airplane.
The downside for me is I have a feeling it would get old quick. There's just something missing, aside from an engine sound of course. I don't want his to sound like some dumb cliché, but it has no soul. It just isn't something that would make you go "Hey, I just feel like going for a drive today."

I hated the thing too. I was really excited about it, until I drove one. Everything seemed to make a ton of rattles inside, and honestly, I think my E30 feels like it has more torque (butt dyno). Lets see how they hold up, the dealership I'm at is an I service point, we are getting one, and have sold 2 locally already.
