My one experience with something strange was when I visited Virginia City this summer. One of the old hotels is supposedly haunted and for $10 you get a guided tour. On the second floor, my heart started pounding and I experienced a sensation of fear. After going back down to the first floor, the feeling went away.

I will say, we visited the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, AR.

Once we were in the "old morgue" (I haven't been able to find any reliable sources that back up what the locals say used to happen there), our camera that had worked the entire time before and after during the trip, refused to stay powered on.

i think what slavery guy is trying to say is that, if ghosts were real and if they truly had a vendetta against those who caused them worldly pain and suffering, then it would be seriously apparent by the ghosts of black slaves doing hauntings on white people.

so, as he sees it, not that many ghost stories exist where white folk are pestered by (clearly) black slaves. i don't think he was being racist, but it was worded very poorly.


i believe there's probably some serious creep-factor when you visit an old slave plantation in the south, or are generally near their boarding rooms/mass graves/lynching/beating sites. that and the underground railroad.

most of that which we feel is psychologically self-induced, but i have felt 'off' in some places when i was otherwise cheery and, you know, not being paranoid about ghosts and such.

I'll take a crack at it. I'll preface by saying that I don't fully understand why the glimpses we get into the spirit world usually manifest themselves as a "haunting" of sorts. I do believe that when these things are visible, it's a rare glimpse we see of the spiritual warfare that is being waged all around us.

Starting in Job 1:6, there's a conversation between God and Satan, and the whole story unfolds from there. It's a fascinating book, and one of my favorites in the Bible.

Numbers 22:21-39 recounts the story of Balaam, his donkey, and an angel. After he whips the donkey mercilessly for not obeying him, the donkey asks him why he's doing this and then his eyes are opened to the angel ready to kill him if he continues with his plan.

Ephesians 6:12 says "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,but against the rulers, against the authorities,against the powersof this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

There are more, but there's support for the spiritual mumbo jumbo in the bible.

The real shit isn't some secret intranet that you're invited to by a mysterious stranger at a gas station, it's conducted in the real world via physical media or through VPN's with limited trusted parties.

this will be hopefully my only religious post. hate, bring on the hate.

first. the things this world holds to be "normal" now, are not held to be normal by followers of god/believers of god. or most of them at least. they are held to be wrong. (women not being covered, gay,lesbians,all the blah blah whatever, how corrupt the world has gotten) this just shows how much of a hold satan has on the world. god will come back, and when he does it will be to take his followers with him, and when they are gone he will turn the world over to satan and that will be the "end of the world"

Those were social constructs of the time. Put aside all the socially infuenced BS and the metaphoric stories and you get that there is a higher power that wants us to be good to each other.
