I took a couple years of community college business classes, didn't like it, didn't have the money, dropped out, working now, hate it, finally motivated enough to make a change. Taking Aircraft Structure Mechanic course. One year course and lots of job ops. Got the email monday. I'm pretty stoked, now just have to figure out how I'm going to pay for it all.

Hell yeah, man! Nice move. I turn 21 in April, and am finally starting college. I regret not going sooner. YAY DEBT! ;) Idk how I'll pay for it, but I really want a degree. I hate my call center job. Fuck TD Bank.

Edit: I'm going to major in Accounting. LOL

I know, it's a dumb major, and I still won't LIKE the work, but I'll like working in an office, working normal human hours, and getting paid about 50-60k per year, on average. Always leaves the possibility for more. Also, it's a pretty steady career choice. People will always have the need for people to manage their finances. I want to be able to find a job when I graduate and afford my hobby.

I think you are doing it right.

I am a firm believer in finishing high school and getting out in the real world working as many different jobs/career paths as possible. This will give you a real idea about what you want to do for the rest of your life.......or until it's time for a change.

I cannot tell you how many of my friends went to UNI straight out of high school, into majors, got their undergraduate degree, and HATE the career they chose.

I did a similar thing. Got an A.S. in automotive technology after high school, worked as a mechanic, got sick of it by 25 and went back to school. I'll be finishing a B.S. in a few months at 29.

School is a lot easier/more rewarding when you want to be there.
