great info everyone. thanks. makes me feel a little better about the chevs. if I can find injectors at a decent price. not much of a Ford fan, but if the price is right it would happen.

did the Toyotas have a diesel now? I honestly didnt think they did. but what I do not know at times can fill the pacific. being smart is trying not to think what I dont know can fill a swimming pool. lol

Both Yota and Datusn have been saying they are going to market a 1/2 ton diesel soon, and I think latter this year Dodge will have a smaller Cummings available in the 1/2 tons as well.

Injectors are not as common a failure as everyone tries to make it out to be, YES if you have it long enough or buy one with enough mileage on it you are going to have an injector failure or have to do a set of them, and they run about 225-285 a pop, but you wont have to do it again for a long long time.

There are many documented 1/2 million mile Durmaxes out there, and a couple with over a million on them both ones I am thinking or are used for pulling BIG camper trailers from Factory to Dealership an 04 and 06. They both were/are factory stock and had good regular maintenance.

thanks man. Ill let him know to look into it.

I should also clarify for those that dont know what a hot shot is. These trucks run for days at a time, stack miles like crazy, and pull HEAVY loads. The new dodge is only six months old and has 70k on it already. And the conditions they drive through can be pretty extreme. Rig roads are usually complete shit. They take lots of abuse and seem to take it well. Now that I think of it most of the hotshot companies in town seem to be running duramaxs.

Yup thats why too. My work rig right now is a 13 6.7 Cumins and has about 10k miles I have put 7k on it since Jan 8th. Rig roads are like my access roads and ROW's fuck W.V. sucks this time of year and is VERY VERY hard on trucks, this POS is starting to rattle and clunk and I have gone out of my way to keep from tearing it up and done A LOT of walking humping about 80-90 lbs of gear a long ways to and from. I am running lots of fuel treatment out of my own pocket, to keep this fucking thing on the road. When I light it up at 530am it does not shut down till at least that in the after noon most days, sitting on high idle all day at about 1250-1300RPM to keep my inverter up and running with out killing batteries.
