Bald eagles are, not common, but they are around. there is a crap load of turkey voltures and hawks though. it will be nice in the spring when the swans migrate and stop at the flooded farm fields and you can get a heard of sevral hundred to a thousand.

then I let me dog chase them out of the field after admiring them.
dont worry, he never catches them. I have him trained into chasing off the canadian geese that land by the pond.

Yeah, there are quite a lot in Idaho. Everytime I float the Cabarton on the North Fork of the Payette river I See them swing down from the trees and get fish out of the river. It's amazing. Just another reason why Idaho is amazing.

I don't think a lot of people know this but Idaho is hot spot for birds of prey. We have a centre here in Boise with California Condors, and all different hawks, eagles and owls from around the world.

Also, downtown on the One Capital Center Building there is a Peregrine Falcon nest with a webcam. It's fascinating seeing the bird in an urban environment.

The Berry College eagles nest in the top of a pine tree situated between the main entrance and the parking lot of the Cage Athletic and Recreation Center.

I saw a hawk sitting on top of a pigeon that I'm sure he had just killed. I was about 20 feet away from the hawk and we were just staring at each other. I swear he was transferring some of that hawk power over to me. Anyways some unaware guy approaches nearby and startles the hawk. The hawk then flies off with the pigeon at his grip. I was in awe, didn't know they'd kill and eat other birds. I was amazed!
