I dont think you can make that kind of a blanket statement.

It has little to do with one's politics. usually these kinds of bottom feeders are apolitical - sure they like liberal programs that give them handouts, but they have no intellectual ability to understand or make any decisions on real political issues.

Its really a class issue more than anything else. I know plenty of selfish conservative assholes who, if faced with a choice between sitting at their dying grandmother's bedside or going on a trip to Mexico, would go to Mexico. i know some liberal people just as self-centered. but I don;t think I have ever met anyone with any ability to carry on a meaningful political discussion who would do something so horrid as this. Except maybe for Tom Delay.

You're right. I shouldnt have made the political distinction. I usually associate that class of people with liberal because the liberals support lower criminal standards and handouts.
