    USPS Sucks!

Against my better judgement, I used USPS Priority Mail to send an e39 radio/MID from Seattle Washington to New Port Beach California. Taking 16 days to get there wasn't the worst part. The worst part was tracking it and watching it go back and forth.

Just went through a huge headache with them today. Useless service.

Usps is useless. Sometimes I'm waiting for my stuff to come in fast and it takes longer then expected (2weeks) and the item is just one state over.

Agree! USPS lost my respect also.

and......They lost a package I sent, Priority, with tracking number an all.

        Poof! Gone!

Had to refund the buyer's money ........and insurance only paid 75%.

I ship with USPS daily. Most of my package arrive in 2-3 days. And when yous ship the same day, you can order something on a Friday, and it will show up on Monday. I'm very happy with USPS really. You can't beat the price too. I almost never have issues with domestic service. International is a different story.

Pro tip: If you ship a part internationally, never put "BMW" in the description. There's a lot of post offices in other countries will just steal it if it says BMW on it. Africa(except SA), Brazil, and some of the old soviet block countries.

I've normally only had very minor issues with USPS, (although our local letter carriers are a bunch of Jack Wagons). Having a stock pile of free packing supplies and the convenience, I started using them again. But after this ordeal I'll make sure I have enough insurance to cover the loss on valuable items if I decide to use them again. Watching(tracking) incompetence and disorder is nerve racking, especially when their email and phone system they advertise for reporting problems is totally useless.

Last time I was at the post office there was a chick who was going nuts on one of the workers. Apparently she had some medical records sent from Charlotte to Winston-Salem (80 miles), and after 5 days it hadn't arrived. They checked tracking, the last update was from 3 days prior in Rochester NY, 800 miles away... and they had no idea if it was still there. She was livid.

By and large they do pretty well, but sometimes they just drop the ball. Same with any delivery service (though FedEx has yet to let me down).

I've had one issue with usps taking 14 days to deliver a package, but other then that, they are great. Can't beat their prices on most packages. For big things, I normally use FedEx.

Never an issue...have had some shit luck with the brown truck and terrible experiences with fedex (many lost packages, reusing tracking numbers that don't become valid for 3 days, and so on).

Is there possible user error in any of the issues? What kind of labels are you using? How it is packaged?

I sent a belt to a customer from NY once, they sent the package to philly instead of Long Island. It took 8 days to go from me to him...I could have drove there in 7-8hrs.

One lost package in 14 years. I ship items every week, sometimes 3 or 4 days per week. USPS does great for me.

Me and my brother (who has an ebay store) ship usps probably 400+ times a week. Out of all of the packages only a few have gone missing. That's to be expected though, FedEx and ups make mistakes too. For their pricing, usps can't be beat.

Delivery times varies greatly, I shipped 4 items this year by international priority air mail from Lithuania (gets handled by USPS when plane lands in US):
Shipped 25th January - delivered 4th February (Ohio)
Shipped 30th January - delivered 19th February (Washington), although tracking stuck on 12th in California.
Shipped 2nd February - delivered 14th February (Connecticut)
Shipped 13th February - delivered 24th February (Massachusetts).
All of these packages started their US trip in New York.

I experience the same thing with USPS sometimes as well. I noticed it seems to be dependent on the type of mail you send.
Priority or first class always arrives promptly with no issue. If you mail a letter in an envelope its give or take a few days.

Once when I used their "parcel mail" which had cheap shipping cost, It ended up going from me in Southern California, to the midwest, and then back to it's final destination in Arizona. Total time in transit came out to about a week and a half which was ridiculous for sending something to a neighboring state

I was driving my golf when a usps truck drove me off the road and made me crash into a snowbank. The guy completely saw it and kept driving. Fucker!
