The only time I've ever had problems with USPS is when I was forwarding mail. They advertise 1-2 weeks, but I sometimes waited upwards of 6 to finally get my mail

Long time shipper with USPS (3 years so far); never lost a package (knock on wood)

I suspect that a lot of issues with USPS start with the first person/place to handle the package. I sent out two packages from the post office closest to my work, and both of them arrived to the recipient as empty boxes. I don't know if it was theft or careless handling, but I was reimbursed for both eventually. Every package before and since has been sent from a different post office near my house, and I haven't had any other issues.

The thing about USPS is that you have to insure the mail. If you insure it and have proof that someone paid you the insured amount, you're pretty much golden to get your money back.

This^ I spend about 3.00 to send a belt or wallet and around 16.00 to send a satchel, I cannot argue when UPS wants double.

Never had a problem with USPS , even for large parcels shipped to me here. Once you dont put BMW in the description as george_graves said , but theft isnt the issue for me in that regard.. more in terms of our local tax people. Once they see BMW they assume its an expensive part and will want to 'revalue' the item and charge more duties. Takes 5-10 days to get to Barbados. Never had a problem.

We send 20-30 parcels daily with USPS. tracking sucks. Most times its delivered before its updated. but for small parcels they do well. Ive had a few packages lost but overall its been ok

FUCK USPS. I ordered AKG bushings, they "went out for delivery", well I got home and no package. I call them up (1800 number), they don't know where it is, they say theyll look into it and call me back. They call back an hour later and tell me its at the hub 5 minutes from my house, okay cool, I go there, stand in line for 25 minutes, package isnt there. Lady tells me to call a number and speak to the supervisor there. I leave, get on the phone with the supervisor and she says it was out for delivery. I said Yeah I understand that, it was out for delivery YESTERDAY, where is it now? She says they couldnt deliver it because it said my name was the address. I said oh really?, then how did you know to ship it to bethlehem PA and which truck to put it on? She said they must of made a mistake, she will find it and let me know. She never calls back, so I give her a call again (same thing for 3 days), where is my package? blah blah blah, "sir its not lost, we'll get it to you" to which I replied "it's not lost? then why the fuck cant you tell me where it is?" to which she went back to the improper address excuse. So I call AKG, the lady (who is incredibly nice) assures me it was proper, but if it didnt show up the next day she would have a replacement set sent out. It never showed so AKG sent me a replacement set. I still have no idea where the package is.

Last time I used USPS, I sent a T-shirt in a small envelope from 04210, to 04250 and it took over a week to arrive.

                    ...It's a 20 minute drive, if that.

Should be a new r3v thing, send an item to yourself via USPS, see how long it takes to come back.

USPS has been mostly good for me. Sent and received most things without issue. There's only been two things they messed up. First ordered something from Brandon (f34r) for Xmas gifts for my parents. First thing arrived without problem exactly as expected, two days before Xmas. Had him make something else and it was set to arrive the 26th. Never showed so I waited another day. Again nothing. So I call and they assure me it will arrive soon. Didn't arrive for like 5 or 6 days and it's already into the first week of January. Sat in NY for like 4 days.

Then the other day a package from another member never arrived at my door. Looked online and it said it was delivered. BS. Instead I had figured out what happened to it myself. It had ended up at a neighbors and I had to steal it off their porch. Had my house number clearly on the box, and it was sitting right below the sign that had the neighbors definitely different house number. Not USPS's direct fault, but hard is it for postman to read numbers?

I've lost one package in my life. Shipped and received THOUSANDS.

                          Just one.

                          And it was FedEx.

And it was a very expensive one of a kind part. Never to be seen again. Still sore about that one years later. (If you're wondering, it was a Torsen diff for a nissan H190 27 spline)

I use USPS all the time for anything a few pounds or under. UPS and FedEx just can't match pricing on anything that isn't over 5 pounds.

I use USPS flat rate stuff all the time. Print labels straight from PayPal.

Saturday delivery and flat rate ftw, but otherwise, yeah, the tracking sucks and delays are inevitable.

I don't mind USPS. they can be a pain, but I've always gotten the money in insurance claims and they are cheap. Tracking is getting better.
