Cool, so as long as I still pay for my 1 main cable box, these boxes should suffice, as opposed to paying to rent TimeWarners stuff?

Combine it with standard OTA HDTV broadcasts for all your local/national channels and you can get 95% of what's available on cable for less than 25% of the cost. It's a no-brainer.

so for all of you who dont have cable how do you watch sports?

for example, nfl, nhl, and mlb. i understand there are free streams available online but their quality usually sucks compared to HD content coming through the cable.

Network over the air channels air some stuff and if there is something I really care about I'll go to a friend's house or a sports bar. Generally I'm not the type to sit there with ESPN on all day long...but that's just me.

I just don't watch sports. Pretty easy. I cannot stand men chasing balls. Not to mention showing off the (performance enhanced) virility of their phallus by smacking a ball with their big sticks.

They asked you to register? I've never had to register on there. They do stream from other websites because solar itself isnt a streaming site. It's a database of streaming websites. Kind of like a search engine for streaming sources.

But even then, when you click on something, it pulls the source and embeds it on their page so you never actually leave solar movie.

Did you get this type of page at any point?

Should then lead to a page like this (shrank image for size):

The most you should ever need to do is type in a captcha thing

There are certain sites that require you to regsiter. Or run DIVX instead of flash. This might cause obstacles for you. I stick to the sources:

                          played.to
                          vodlocker
                          clicktoview

I also have adblock so I don't know if that might help with anything

Yes. I prefer live. But I will watch replays or streams of motorsports, after SPEED became Fox Sports 78 or whatever there really wasn't much of the auto racing I'd want to watch anyway on broadcast/cable. Burnt out on NASCAR in like 2004 or so.

Get a roku, I love mine. There's a bunch of channels that are of specific interests, there are also unlisted channels that you can add to stream not so authorized content. If you wanna watch sports it is possible with a subscription to whatever service, or you can go to a sports bar.
