You don't really have to spend much time or effort cleaning a BGE. I clean the ash out in under 5 minutes every 5-8 cooks (will do more often if doing longer cooks though).

You can score a BGE on craigslist for 400-500 easily, they have no parts that wear (gas grills usually don't last more than 4-5 years) and they will grill direct/indirect, smoke or do high temp cooks (800+ degree F) for quick pizza cooking.

    Hey R3v,

So I have narrowed it down between the Weber spirit and genesis line. Both are 3 burner units. The Genesis is about 200 more. Anyone have a spirit or genesis they want to chime in on?

Always wanted a Weber. Skimped for years.......I now have a Weber. It's like comparing a Geo Metro to a BMW anything.

We hawked CL for a while and snagged an $800+ unit for $350 from a dude that cared for it like it was his kid. Ours is Natural Gas, so it's stupid simple to use.

So for the traeger, who here has one? How quick can you grill some burgers, steaks, etc? The appeal of the gas is that it is quick.

Buy a 50 gallon drum, cut in half, clean it out very good, installs hinges and get some grates. Fill with charcoal and bake it clean. You will have almost nothing into it and can grill a half pig :D

I got a Jenn Air from a friend, and it is great. 100% stainless and 100% awesome. 4 burners, side burner for your beans, and the back infra red thing. Ive done 200 burger cookouts on this thing and it is a beast. 5 years later the non-stainless burners inside are needing replacement, but that was my fault~ the cover I got for it shredded in about 2 years and I thought- stainless! Who cares!

Go with the egg if you want smoke, jenn if you want convenience/gas.
