I am staying with my G-ma in Sunny Fort Lauderdale. She broke her hip and had a slight stroke about 6 months ago. She was in a nursing home while she recovered...

About a month and a half ago we decided to get her out of the nrsing home, in Ohio where she spends the Summers, and bring her down here.

During the day we have nurse's aids come in because she cannot walk by herself... etc.

The week people are regulars, but the weekend people are random. Today the lady is a moron!! Most of them are from Jamaca or Haiti... I want to use an axe and chop her had off.

I took g-ma to Benihana (sp) and the da*n aid would not leave me alone about, how long... when are we done... blah blah... I told her to go outside and wait if she did not want to eat, which we always pay for!!! DUMB ASSS. I was only trying to enjoy a fucking dinner out with my g-ma. What the hell the aid was even on teh clock, and all she could do was bug me!!!

Don't know what advice I need, just needed to tell someone I am pissed offfffffffffffffffffff.

Dude, Find the best people to take care of her. I lost my grandma about a year and a half ago because my aunt put her in a nursing home when she had a knee replacement. She was recovering fine and then they went to move her and dropped her. I am telling you if you don't like your/her aids get rid of them and find new ones cause if you don't trust them or they seem shitty something will happen eventually with my grandma.

I have fired three. The weekend people are just usually dumbasses. During the week the two ladies that take care of her are great. So I don't have to worry. But this weekend sucked. She had diarhea and I had to deal with that all night... then this DA tonight.

Violence solves everything? lol no really, so you have to fire another one, well if that what potentially keeps your grandma alive longer than I would say its worth it. You have the right to tell them who is right for taking care of her. They might not like it but who gives a shit about them. Call their bosses or something and tell him/her that you need new weekend people because they are not doing a good enough job.

Most people are incapable of the level of detachment necessary to clean up after incontinent elderly people and still maintain the necessary compassion to really "care" for them. It is a labor of love and you can't buy love. I have had to deal with the same situation with my mother. If you have good people, appreciate them for the truly great people they are.
