You're 100% right bro, but 1. we don't know if his b16 is the lsd equipped one 2. Cable lsd b16 transmissions are hard to come by in good condition, there wasn't a great deal of them made either so the people who sell them take advantage of that =/Leave a comment:

Hey great info, thank you.
As far as the engine, technically it is a b20z. It is the high compression motor with the knock sensor on the back.
So far I'm loving the car. Now that the suspension is in better condition its a ton of fun to drive. I think that before I go turbo it will be getting an eBay exhaust system. Cant beat $200 for a header back setup.
I really want to go through all of the suspension and clean up the engine bay before adding any real power to it.
That's great then!! They have too many variations of the B20B lol
Consider that you might have to change thst exhaust when you go turbo, the piping may be too small for 300whp.
I know people shit on OBX a lot but, I had a full OBX system on my first hatch and I have to admit, not only did it withstand a lot of abuse it was REALLY quiet. I mean a very nice low deep sound comparable to the Apexi WS2. I had the full header back system with a K&N.
If you want to keep the suspension budget friendly I can vouch for Tein S.tech's with Tokico HP's. I went to UTI in Exton, PA and lived about 30-45 mins north of the school, only one road and it was all up twisties, I used to drive like an asshole then and let me tell you thay car drove fucking awesome, I did have all brand new bushings though.
You're making me want another now, DAMN YOU!! LolLeave a comment:

Hey man, I just wanted to say congrats on the purchase, I wish you the best of luck bro. I've been a fan of the 88-91 chassis all my life and have owned a handfull of them with a variation of swaps. The B20B is a great engine though I wonder why he didnt go with a B20Z if he was going JDM but, it is what it is. Btw, the "EF" only refers to the JDM models, USDM models all bear the "ED" designation, yours specifically is an ED7. Honda decided to change designation for the different markets unlike BMW.
You might want to look into a traction bar to take care of that wheel spin, Avid and K Tuned both make great traction bars. Installing an LS 5th gear is the most common solution for the 4k @ 70mph.
I agree 100% with your ebay turbo kit idea, I had one myself. Just change the HG and get ARP head studs, boosting @ 10-12psi will net you 300whp and 300lb/ft. I recommend something around an 18 or 20G turbo and if it's possible for you, have Jeff Evans tune it for you. He's like Randy at Epic when it comes to Hondas and he does e-tunes if you can't make it to PA.
If you ever need an info or anything feel free to hit me up I'd love to help with any I can. Once again, congrats and best of luck!Leave a comment:

Nope, it's called someone installed one of the radial bushings backwards.
Thus allowing about an inch extra of forward caster when accelerating. Plus, torque steer on Honda's is to the right due to the shorter axle shaft on the right hand side.
Moving on.
Old on the top, in the orientation they came out. Bottom, proper orientation. I went ahead and installed new ones on both sides since I was there.

Broken bolt. Took a little while to drill that one out to repair it.

Spent the day on the suspension and running around tracking down parts. The car feels much much better now, a little less of a death trap.
Oh, check out my sweet push button start. That's next weekend, gotta go back to basics on this one.

And the good stuff.

Got a long way to go, but at least now I feel comfortable driving it. Took it on the highway today and was rather impressed. It feels pretty solid now. Only downfall is 4k rpm's at 70mph.
and yea, I need new tires. Going to wait a bit and just snag someones wheel/tire combo off of craigslist.Leave a comment:

Its called......TORQUE STEER !!!! Because FWD............Ok I'm officially afraid to drive the car now. It has been pulling to the left under load, and then to the right when off the throttle.
So I had a good feeling that the front end was loose.
Tonight I jacked it up and shook down the front end, and wow. The radius arm bushings on both sides are shot, I can move the wheels forward an inch at least with my hands.
Then to top it off, on the right lower control arm, one of the radius arm bolts have a broken off head. Ggggrrreeeaattt.
The end bushing on the steering rack is shot, and I couldn't get the inner tie rod off that I was attempting to replace. I'll have to go to HONDA for the bushing, and fix it at my parent's house in a few weeks. The inner tie rod isn't too terribly bad, so I'll let it wait.
Damn kids and wanting to go fast but not giving a shit about the structural integrity of the vehicle. Oh well, at least now it will be getting the attention it deserves.
That said, I replaced the ECT sensor for the ECM tonight and saw a huge improvement. Now I'm just getting a code for the EGR but holy shit. The car spins through first gear and spins a good bit when you shift into second. Yea, I guess I'm not THAT afraid to drive it. This car really is a ton of fun to drive. I had come to hate FWD but this doesn't seem to have the limitations I have experienced with other, larger FWD vehicles.
The suspension will be taken care of tomorrow morning. Will take photo's, promise.Leave a comment:
