      Ummm...what?

We most certainly do have that freedom, in our Charter of Rights and Freedoms it is titled the Freedom of Expression. We are limited from hate speech, but we definitely do possess a freedom of speech.

I missed the free speech demand, but how can I prevent being an asshole if I don't know why the thread was deleted?

I saw lots of Canadians exercising free speech during this manhunt, they just expressed themselves a lot more politely than I am accustomed to here in the US of A.

you do realize that was mostly a tongue and cheek post right. Your "hate speech" laws are kinda skewed. While it was dismissed it seems that if you are offended by what someone says about you, you can sue them. Even though it may not go all the way to tribunal it will cost the sayer huge dollars in legal fees to defend them selves from the state. Thus people will not speak their mind for fear of suffering from the same fate. Kinda like our overly PC ism we have going on down here, with out the court proceedings .

            Yeah yeah Wiki I know

I seem to remember something from a cartoon or something else form somewhere in SK in the 08ish time frame as well your govt going after the publisher of at the insistence of the the official Islamic group. Similar results, then there is the Ezra Levant thing going on currently.
