    Snap! Range Rover question.

Firstly, apologies if this is in the wrong section.

I am looking to buy an 03 RR with 119k on the clock. It needs a fuel pump and I am having a hard time finding one in my area.

I'm a bit illiterate to the land rover works so my question is, what are my options in replacing said pump?

    Thanks guys.

I'm guessing to get it fixed you'll need to take out a second mortgage to pay for the repair, and all subsequent repairs that are in cars immediate future.

      That's why I rent. ;)

The repairs, I can do. Any of them. The parts are my question.

Dealership can't order one? Are there no European car specialty parts stores in your area?

Once upon a time I thought about getting a RR, then I did some research online and decided I'd rather eat shattered glass than go down that road of endless and frustrating repairs. If you can't find a fuel pump, you might want to reconsider. ;)

i've never owned one but every time the opportunity presents itself, i run like a scarred little girl. about two months ago, i was at an auction where they had two for sale at one price. one car was in pretty good shape and the other was a rusty parts car but complete. both sold for 540.00 which is less than the value of scrap. apparently everyone there was aware that these vehicles from this era are complete pieces of shit.(no offense slammin')

if you have a limited budget (i assume you do because you are on r3v), you would be pretty dumb(no offense) to buy this car even if it is free. i mean this in the most respectful way possible.

Stealership can order one. And unfortunately I live in a ford kind of town. I can find the oe pump, but I'm more asking some of the guys who know more about these trucks if there are other (see cheaper) options.

Yeah, not buying one...especially one that needs work right off the bat.

It's a pump assembly. My cost is over $560. Retail is over $700. LRO 14301

Check Atlantic British. Rovers North is kinda like the Bav Auto of the Rover world. Lastly try Will Tillery, "Rova Guy". Probably have to call him. He does more of the older stuff, but may be able to help you.

                  Gotta pay to play.

Where it the truck and how much do they want for it?

                  Pics?

Well, I looked at the unit and decided it was misrepresented.

I got a job offer in Atlanta and the e30 will not cut it. I'm looking at an 05, well maintained rr for 8k. Pics look good and I'm view in it this morning. Will post what I find.

From what I understand 05 is the last year with the BMW engine, good for me as it is something I already know.

Half of 05. Then they went to the Jag motor under Ford's ownership.

I'm seeing more and more of the M62 trucks popping up with busted chain guides. Looking to pick one up and slam an X5 engine in it, if you come across any.

Overall though, the mid year 2005+ are better put together, but the price reflects that. ~100k mile M62 trucks are between $10-12k in good condition. Ragged out ones are getting cheap, and you can probably sell any stupid fucking 24" chrome wheels to get the price point under $5k, especially around ATL.....then buy stock RR wheels and still be ahead of the game.
