Got into a fight with a locomotive, and lost.

They make the door's to these things way too damn small for a 6 foot tall human.

Turned around to back out (or climbing in, I can't remember) and I slammed my head hard on the steel door frame. Luckily I didn't knock myself out or I would have fallen 15 feet to the gravel below.

Reached up to feel a lump on my head and a lot of pain, when I removed my hand it was completely covered in blood. Then I realized my entire face was wet with blood.

End result, 3 staples in my head. And a nice blood trail, and bloody pants, and more blood. I got pretty light headed after a few minutes.

And why am I posting this? Because I had to have a drug test and I can't return to work until it comes back. The good news is that I get paid for time lost when it comes back clean. So, I literally have nothing better to do as I am not allowed to do any strenuous task for fear of bleeding even more.

Well I have to be honest: After reading the thread title, this is just about the best possible result.

It was disappointing for me, I was picturing a T-boned e36 with a 24V ready for harvest.

edit: looked at the photo again... My head is starting to hurt.

I asked him if he was going to use a standard staple gun or if he had an over priced medical model.

I also told the first nurse in that she had the wrong guy.

Then they gave me the tool to remove the staples, I should have ran with that opportunity to fuck with the staff but I let it slide.

So you bonked your head hard and got a gnarly gash so your workplace figured " This guy must be on drugs to hit his head hard enough to rip his skull open so quick lets drug test him?

Do they drug test all employees that have similar incidents?

Or was it completely unrelated and the timing was such that you happened to hit your head around the same time that you had to be drug tested.

I recently hit my forehead on the corner of an open breaker box that a client of mine had left open and I did not notice. Thank god I wear visors all the time for work and the visor took the brunt of the blow. Without that visor I would have had a pretty bad forehead gash I'm sure. A visor might have save this gash as well.

I think it's pretty standard in most "labor" type jobs. It's a liability thing.

^ yup. Get hurt, get tested.

Which is also why they will reimburse you for the time you are off while waiting for the test results. They understand shit happens but they also have to cover their own asses. If you are clean, you get taken care of.
