I've had about a day now to let this sink in, at first I simply couldn't react to it, didn't know how. After the memories started rolling through though I'm becoming a bit more depressed about this. Aladdin is the first movie I can remember seeing as a child after my parents got divorced and it took the pain of that whole situation away with many laughs. Pretty heavy stuff to see this happen to such a brilliant person.

Depression is no joke. I think I've got a pretty good handle on things but some people don't. So take the time to ask people how they are doing, you never know who's day you'll save.

I've suffered a very serious bout of severe depression for awhile sometime ago...people don't realize how debilitating it is, and it's time that those who suffer, or have suffered speak up and not feel lessened or ashamed of it. It truly can control your life, as it did with poor Robin and his family.
It can impact anyone at anytime.
I'm forever greatfull for the tools I've learned along my everlasting journey/road to recovery.

Oddly, from my observations, the funniest/most gifted individuals suffer the most.

          ie: I'm funny as fuck.

I'm watching worlds greatest dad. Ironic how similar it is with what's been going on.

Yeah, I love addicts (AKA self medicating for depression or some other disorder). Apart from the addiction part, they can be some of the awesomest people on the planet. Probably pretty fun to hang with Robin Williams. I'm sad for his family.

I hope that was just an unfortunate choice of words...

I dealt with depression for a number of years and hit the very bottom, I am here because of friends and family. Side note, that Tony Stewart thing happened near where I live(1.5hrs away).

                      ditto.
communication and a strong support system is pivotal in recovery and ongoing growth.

Further, wrenching and bettering my e30 is very therapeutic for me...it lets me zone out doing something I love. Basically, my E30 is one of several coping mechanisms.

                      weird, but true.

Same, something about wrenching that soothes the soul :)

I will say this though, what a selfish act. Depression is not a disease and is a matter of choice through breaking the mental/chemical slavery. Just like the simple act of smiling can make you feel better. He left his kids and family and all we can say is rip. True but what the hell.

Incredibly sad. Happiest, most uplifting person I can think of.
