    those charter people

so today i get a phone call from a number from illinois, so i answer and the guy says hes from charter, and wants to thank me for being a loyal customer, and wants to tell me about their other bundle deals, and such about phone and TV, and i tell him im not interested because i dont have a TV blah blah,

so i tell him i have to go because im working on my car, and he asked what kind of car, so i answer him sarcastially that i was working on my volvo.

he then got excited and told me he just bough an e10, 1974 2002, blah blah and i was like wtf.

so we started talking about bmws, and e30s and junk.

after about ten minutes i got wierded out so i told him i had to go and have a nice day and hung up.

this is the third time charter has called me trying to get me to upgrade to phone and whatnot.

now im not sure what was going on, in fact im kindof wierded out becuase when i told this story to a friend of mine this story they thought it was odd because charter never called them, is it some kind of scam?
    i dont know.

basically because bmw content im posting here.

anyone else get spammed by Internet provider?

I get calls from them every once in a while. Maybe once or twice a year. It isn't a scam.

I used to get calls from them multiple times a week shortly after they installed internet. Never the romamantic experience you had though. I just told them i'm sick of all the calls and to please take me off whatever call list i'm on. No more calls.

                all good questions.

i should have gone along. but im paranoid when it comes to random phone calls with how many credit card scams there are nowadays.

It's much more fun to go along with them for a while than to simply hang up. I pretend to be a different personality every time hoping that I'll end up with the same person on the phone multiple times and they'll end up being so confused that they don't call back the following week.

Direct tv calls me and will simply not take no for an answer when I say I'm not interested in their offers. So now I just tell them let me think for a minute and don't say a word until he goes sir? and I say still thinking. He ends up saying I'll call you another time. Gotcha bitch.
