Interested in Game / Software Testing?

As some of you guys know, I do some work in the gaming industry, mainly in the Q/A department. I recently was promoted to Public Relations Director at Elite Testing Services.

Let's face it: alpha/beta testing games these days is a joke! First, the publisher wants you to pay for access to a half-finished product only to have your awesome experience squashed by a bunch of snot-nosed 12yr olds. That's not how we run things here at Elite Testing Services (ETS). We have a team of dedicated software testers (that's right, we're not limited to just testing games!) with over 30 years combined testing & Q/A experience! We're talking some indie titles like War of the Roses, Gettysburg: Armored Warfare as well as major titles like Homefront, the Battlefield series, the Medal of Honor series, Cyrsis, and even the EA Downloader - better known as Origin!

While we're still in the beginning stages, we've decided to open the recruitment doors. Once we reach capacity, we'll stop accepting applications. You must be 18 or older to join, have not been banned from any game on any system (for cheating), and pass a basic background check.
Please fill out ALL of the required application fields with correct information.

Many will try; will you make the cut?
    Apply Today @ elitetestingservices.com

    ...let the games begin!!!

Well that phrase basically means that if you have been banned for cheating, then you are not eligible.

I laughed at getting banned from a game. Better watch out, got some real Ray Rice's over here!

Users can be banned from games/platforms for:
          Cheating
          Piracy
          Slander
          Spam
          Hate speech
          Scamming
          Distribution of illegal content
          Etc

It goes far beyond cheating, and all of those are very good reasons to not allow someone beta access to a game, especially in a commercial environment.

Wow I had no idea there were still beta testing gigs available these days. War of the Roses was one of the last games installed in my Steam library before work took over my life.

If a good friend of mine (we grew up playing PC games and did a bit of map creation/modding, we're also co-founders of our company) might be interested, can I let him know about this application process?

We're both well-versed in QA from web development experience and our work in co-founding an Internet company.

Lol how does someone know about game bans? Thats lol.

Edit: registered, what the hell, nothing to loose.

You should really expand your request for gaming ID's from stuff thats not just EA battlefield stats and Blizzard stats.

Pretty sure ive never been banned, not counting getting banned from shitty indie titles where the admins dont like bugs being pointed out.

I remember an old rooster teeth podcast where someone discussed that having a beta testing job was absolutely terrible. Everyone hopes they get early access to the next release of their favorite series, when in reality they got stuck playing the newest barbie horse ranch game on a dev kit for 80 hours, while being told "no, we don't care about that bug... We already know about that bug... Play around that and see what else you can find.". If I recall correctly, some game only took about 3 hours to beat, but they had to do it over, and over, and over again. Several times a day. For weeks on end.
