will a m30b35 engine fit in rear of Focus station wagon

I'm headed on a 1000km roundtrip tomorrow to procure my elusive M30b35 engine.

I have a choice of either taking my runabout car, 2003 Ford Focus Station wagon (laugh as you may, I love that little thing) or my gas guzzling 2009 Ford F150 8cyl.

I absolutely know it'll fit the truck(duh) but would rather not pay the $200 price tag it will cost me for the journey.

My question is, and I wish I would of thought of this a little sooner...will the M30b35 (fully assembled) fit in the rear of the Focus wagon.

I'll have a cherry picker onsite to load it in either vehicle, however I fear the engine might be too tall to actually slide in the back?

any off chance that anyone has the dimensions or aprox height of the engine so I can know on which car to bring tomorrow?
The maximum cargo capacity of the Focus wagon is 55cu ft.
thanks, and sorry for the last minute weird post lol

    Look at your E30.
Measure from the bottom of the oil pan to the inside of the hood. The B35 fits in there.
If the measured dimension fits your Focus, off you go in style and comfort.

If that doesn't work, take the squab off your back seat. Take those measurements.
Little wagons will take astonishing amounts of volume, so stop fretting and take the Focus.
Please tie the engine down well, you don't want it coming at you in a collision or hard stop.

Engines aren't actually very heavy, you won't need to drop it in there with a cherry picker. You're sliding it in not lifting it in. Take some wood blocks, a chunk of old carpet, a couple of those aluminium roasting pans and two herc straps with you.
      Happy trails!

        excellent thanks Brian!

I get a little ahead of myself at times I suppose and never really put any thought into actually GETTING the engine after all

lol my buddy had an old camry that he slammed a VR6 out of a mark 3 VW in the trunk, full tranny and everything, albeit the rear of the car was on the ground, but it fit, so im sure you could fit the m30 in the back of that wagon

you might wanna center the weight a bit more by placing the motor in the place of the back seat. It lifts up for when you wanna drop the rear seats, so after lifting the rear cushion, don't drop the seat back, and put the engine there.

It'll help center the weight in the wagon to avoid the rear dragging on the ground, and you won't have to worry about the engine sliding back, into the rear tail gate and potentially smashing the rear glass
If it's got tits or tires, it's gonna cost ya!

Asked myself the same question with a Nissan SR20 and a Peugeot 106 once, it worked :nice:

                        Lowered it quitte a bit

The backseat still smells like gearbox oil
