 Worth it. No question.

I have a black & white springer spaniel and even though i know it's gonna suck balls to see him go, it's more than worth it to have him considering the unconditional love he gives and the joy he brings me when he does the goofy shit he does. plus he's the best road trip buddy ever and chicks dig him.

i've lost some really awesome pets and each one gave so much to our family that the loss we feel is nothing compared to the happiness they brought while they were with us.

OP, sorry for your loss, man. i know the feels. hope you're doin' better. i might recommend a new pup. they're awesome to have around when you're feelin' blue. plus training them when they're young is cool cuz they soak it up and the bond created is STRONG.

 :)

edit: glad to see you got a new pup!Last edited by MPLFoster; 10-30-2014, 10:32 PM.Leave a comment:

Sorry to hear this. but I have a serious question. The main reason I've been hesitant about getting a dog is because I know one day, after becoming extremely attached to it, it will come down to this. So my question is now that you've experienced the pain of losing your dog, would you have rather not had the dog in the first place? Might be a stupid question, just looking for feedback.Leave a comment:

Lost my first dog to some serious bullshit.

He loved the fuck out of me, and my close relatives / family / friends, but became absolutely viscious to strangers. I dealt with it for as long I could, kept him on leashes ALWAYS, I loved him and he loved me so it was chill. But, one day he attacked a cop which started this whole thing with animal control, and he tried to attack others and animal control left me no choice. One of the toughest things I've ever done.

I still keep a clay imprint of his paw, and his registration tags. They're hung up on my wall. I still miss him.Leave a comment:

Very sad to hear. My condolences to you. Makes me tear up thinking about when the time comes for my little guy.

Someone here said it best. They give so much love and ask for nothing in return.Leave a comment:

Ah if I hadn't already gotten the treatment stuff from the vet. I didn't know you could get access to this stuff onlineLeave a comment:

You can order the Parvo Kit online if you want to save a few bucks on vet bills and dont mind giving an injection. Pravo shots are a necessity. Vet bills can get outta control.

Thanks. He's got so much personality it's crazy. Just got done with the vet he's got round worm and the worst case of ring worm they have ever seen. Glad we could save him. The vet and everyone else including me think it was meant to be. My old dog right before we put her down gave me a look of it was time and goodbye. I swear she knew we would find this puppy. If we wouldn't have put her down then we would have gone back to my family's place seen the puppy and would have been forced to take it to the pound. Now thats a cute puppy! I think you got another winner! Soon it will be teething time! Lucky you! LOL . Hide the socks and shoes (no joke)
Exercise is key! Love and attention is great, but walks and being social with other dogs goes along way. Exercise will smooth the dog out from an activity and personality perspective.

Sorry for that. Hope you guys got a new pal aswell.Leave a comment:

Man, I'm so sorry your girl had to pass over. I'm glad you posted this thread. It gave me a reminder to look back and cry some more.

This is my old boy Enzo with my daughter a few weeks before he made his journey. I still miss him.

I feel your pain and i am so sorry. :( I had to put down my 15 year old Dashshund Winnie pooh 3 years ago. It feels like yesterday when it happened. It does feel like you lost a child and somebody just ripped your heart out. I couldn't stand being without her,i got another Dashshund within 2 weeks after she passed. It was one of the hardest things in my life having to watch them put her down. You just want them to live forever you know. Just remember all the good times you had with your dog and carry it on to the new one you have now.
I do for sure. Last night we were watching him
And he was acting like Maggie did and we just talked about all the thing she did and the memories we have.Leave a comment:
