    Warfighters Apparel Kickstarter

    Hey All,

I've been working with some game designer/artists to launch a patriotic t-shirt line. We've launched a kickstarter campaign, and are going to be giving a significant portion of the proceeds to SOWW www.specialops.org when the company is launched.

Edit: I didn't get to play in Afg- an "Iraq Veteran" shirt would be cool.

I am grateful for all of our servicemen/women beyond words. And frankly, having the chance to help launch a company that will be directly involved with groups that give our vets invaluable support excites me.

I have a close uncle who was a scout in Vietnam (1st Lt.) who was in some serious shit. Eight years ago we were talking and he was expressing his concern with guys doing 3, 4 deployments back to back, and the strain on someone's psyche. This is a guy who enlisted while married with 1 kid and did 2 tours in Vietnam. He went on to have 5 more kids, has a successful writing career, and is still married to the same woman. All that to say, I know guys are now doing 6,8,10 deployments, and we have a lot of soldiers who don't have the support they need. There are some good groups out there, and the least we can do is support those who've given so much to secure the freedom that we, 300+ million Americans and so many in the world, enjoy.

Anyway, we have both Irag and Afg shirts...If the company grows large enough, we'll do Desert Storm, Vietnam, and other conflict shirts. Again, we're thankful for our vets, and want this to be a vehicle that helps support those who've carried so much on their shoulders.

Appreciate you doing this Adam. It's a sad reality that most military marriages that have a spouse go on deployment end in divorce and compounding the problem. My uncle is in the Air Force and luckily he has always been able to take his family with him.

During my first deployment three guys in my troop were divorced because the wives cheated on them.

I started dating a girl from my home town right after my first deployment and later that summer we broke up because of the distance. Started talking a few months later and then another deployment came up so I was gone for another trip around the world. Got out a couple years later and she had a daughter and I was like wtf happened while I was gone, everyone was having kids and getting married that I went to school with. Its weird because I still feel the same age like time stopped for me and everything else was fast forwarded. Everything changes while you're gone and it's a struggle to catch up, at least I had one girl waiting for me waiting at home for me (E30) lol. I was hoping for a casino or something to open up in my town while I was gone so I could live Walking tall lol
