I can get onto most websites at work, but they block email programs such as gmail. I usually don't care, but I'm waiting for an important email. Any idea on how to get around this temporarily?

you could try a proxy like anonymizer if they dont block them.Im now E30less.

By using a proxy anonymizer it lets me go to the gmail site and sign in, but then takes me to the main google page and shows that I'm signed in. It won't let me go to the actual gmail page. I think it has something to do with it being a secure site. Is there one that works with secure sites?
