    THE Ferrari Thread

I'll start it off with my dream car.

so....a few months ago i was reading the alfa thread which i have been religiously doing for about 2 years now. i have to say that the alfa 4c has really caught my eye. the problem is that i would rather have something older that will appreciate in value sooner rather than go the other direction.

there is nothing like the sound of the exhaust note of an italian engine with 4 valves per cylinder. i started doing some research in general on older alfas and ferraris.....

i came upon the 550 and noticed that the values bottomed out in the 50's about 3/4 years ago. now most examples are quite a lot more than that. i really love the lines of the car. obviously, it will spend most of its time sitting in a locked garage. i'm leaning toward a silver car or possibly the blue. grey or black interior.

we started flipping houses recently. since the economy is really booming at the moment, the business is going well and we have the residual income. my wife and i have talked about it some and she is giving me the green light.

    what does r3v think?

4c has better lines(oh those curves, its one sexy car) but like you said will lose value. At $50k i dont see how you could get hurt. Not sure what insurance etc would run a year, but looks like a fun investment.

Agreed but have you priced one lately? Me neither and even if I had, I know 50K is not going to be enough.

You could maybe get a rebuildable long block for about that...
