I hate that I've had this thought, but what if the show that he wants to make is rubbish? What if the bbc's opression is what kept him cheeky and made top gear great?

I dont think so. Cause after a while it wasn't a show that was scripted by the bbc. It was 3 guys that are best friends messing about in awesome cars. With no rules and no budget I think it will awesome.
