    Utah/Idaho/Wyoming/Arizona

Taking a couple weeks in August and taking the family on a trip out west.

We are flying in and out of Salt Lake City, planning on going to Yellowstone, and also to Grand Canyon.

I know there are a couple of you guys in that general vicinity.

Any can't miss things we should see or hidden gems?

all the way up to the northwest and not even goign to hit the best state up here?

Go skydiving out here. An airfield like 50 miles south of me is real near Mt. Rainier and you jump what seems to be right next to the giant. Very cool. But you're with the family... uh, Yellow Stone FTW

EDIT: Eh, i see your trip is different that i originally thought. Are you driving all of that way?

when you are near yellowstone go to quake lake

its basicly where there was an earthquake in 1959 that caused a massive rockslide that blocked a river ( the madison I think) creating a lake, the cool thing is that over the last few years the lake has started to recede.
I think its pretty damn cool kinda shows you the power of nature. I would check it out for sure. there are lots of badass roads up there too.
when are you planning on going?

If you're in So. Utah be sure to check out Arches national park. It is incredible. Moab is cool if you want to rent a jeep or something and hit the trails but Arches is better for site-seeing.

Zions natl. park is pretty amazing as well.

I love how us Arizonans are proud of the hole in the ground, like we built it or something. /rant

Would you be hiking down it? Or just looking over the edge? If you can spare the cash, hike down and get a helicopter for the ride back up.
