Interview with May right after he found out. "We are very much, the three of us, a package" -May

EDIT: I feel dumb, didn't check page 4 before posting this.

what an utter disappointment. i understand actions have consequences and i understand both sides of the argument, but what a pitiful shame. i hope to see the three of them work together in the future again.... maybe this will be a little wake up call for Clarkson to get his shit together while continuing his hilarious on camera leadership skills.

now excuse me while i go binge watch all of top gear over again.

Another network will probably hire him but it won't be under the Top Gear name

Yeah this sucks. He messed up and ruined the whole show.

Here's hoping another network will pick them up. I don't know if BBC owns the Top Gear name or if they simply have a contract with them. If the latter is the case, it'd be cool if they could void that contract and just continue the show elsewhere.

Had a great run, show has been bit tired lately. So go out with a bang and start fresh.

BBC goes back to Boring British Channel that formerly had Top Gear.

These are basically my exact feelings. It was a fun enough show, but that doesn't give anyone immunity for being a douche canoe like Clarkson has been numerous times. It's too bad he couldn't reel it in, since this is his fault.

I think it is a stunt because all of their contracts were up at the end of March anyway.

I have watched every show twice. Never bothered with the US version.

Agreed. Those are the best parts.

I think top gear comes back with 3 new people for 1 season and then gets cancelled cause it sucks. I bet another channel picks the trio up and makes a new show of it

they might be able to find 1 or a set of replacements, but they are going to lose the ratings, the advertising dollars from 160+ countries. No one is going to watch top gear around the world with out the presenters. Thats why top gear UK shines above all most any other TV program because its NOT about cars anymore, its about 3 friends doing what we all do with our friends, arguing about who is right and why each others opinions suck, car is just the thing that brought them together, and the medium in which they work. The chemistry that has been built between them and the brand they have built TOGETHER over what the last 15 years, cant be replicated with someone else in place, if they try to keep this format its going to die very quickly and very painfully. But to try and keep the pounds rolling in they will keep it on life support Al La teri Schiavo.

Its more about having fun and going on adventures, though while they get the funding and support of an international media icon to go places and do shit we can only look at maps and watch on TV. So while we can just take a road trip to Albuquerque with a couple of friends while not trying to break shit, and see grandma along the way its the same thing in many ways and thats the appeal to most of us. Lets all face facts here, the shit they pull is the same shit we all would pull if we had the funding and support to get away with it while on a road trip with our Friends .

RIP real Top Gear you will be missed

We still have 5th Gear and thousands of car focused channels on Youtube. Maybe Netflix will pick up Clarkson and his croneys. They make more than BBC anyway. They put more money into House of Cards than BBC puts into Top Gear. The only advantage that they had was a BBC press pass.

Who knows what'll happen? Only time will tell, but from what it sounds, Top Gear is kaput until they renew it for 2016.

I mean, it was around before James and Hammond long ago, and yeah, Clarkson was a presenter back then, but who's to say they won't be able to find a set of tolerable replacement presenters?
