When I was in 7th grade, myself and 4 others were in this math & science competition called "Odyssey of the Mind". It was cool, we went to the local college, and got to use all their labs and shit, and do all these experiments and whacked-out math equations, it was pretty fun. I think I still have the t-shirt, I'll have to see if I can find it.

I did OM for 4 years, and 1 year in its crappy replacement "Destination: Imagination. Also did History Day and was on our schools quiz team.

but yes this kinda stuff def. pays off. my kids will being doing this stuff as well. even if they dont want to. i dont feel like paying for their college.
