Who rides road bikes and what do you have?

Eh, road bikes look boring, especially mine. Anyway, here's a picture of my mtb, a 2002 Titus Racer-X Ti 100. It was one of the first bikes that had 100mm front fork compensated geometry. Now that's pretty much standard.

Yep asubimmer, I got Time ATACs from 1998 or so. I haven't even tried Eggbeaters, but that's one part that I've sorta been immune from upgradeitis. I laced up the wheels myself, with some King ISO hubs and Mavic rims.

I wish I had more places to ride mtn bikes. I may get into that later on, but right now, I want to focus on doing triathlons. We do have the DeSoto National Forest about 25mins. from here, and there are 40miles or so of trails, so that would be an option.

I ride a Team Specialized MTB with XT and XTR mix. It's an older version.

There is an in expensive Cannondale Caad 3 for sale in 56cm near by to me for under $200 for frame and a look fork. Granted this is a Headset style frame but nice bike which is a DA unit and a DA bottom bracket both included for the asking price. It's Guards red too.

I ride an older (1999 ish) Fuji Ace. Steel Frame, rather heavy wheels and SORA components- Shimanos base line I think.

I saving and trying to build a new one up.

This is what I am looking for and why:

Mid to late 90s Titanium frame- It NEVER wears out, steel will fatgue, Aluminum is too stiff for my liking, and CF breaks. LiteSpeed is a popular name, but I will be looking for a MOOTS because it is that much more rare.

Any light wheel- Mavic makes good ones

Any Campy groupo or parts. Campy are repairible!!!! Shimano you have to buy sets, if you break a shifter or break lever, you have to buy a pair. Break a ring, you have to buy the whole set, $$$. With Campy you can buy each individual part- not the easiest thing to repair, but well worth not having to buy extras all the time.

I have LOOK Pedals, triangluar in shape as most shoes are now. Nike Carbon shoes- ultra light and ultra ultra stiff.

Shimano parts are repairable, but you have to send it back to CA to get them fixed. Dura Ace has a 3 year warranty, and everything lower has a 2 year warranty. As long as you furnish proof that you bought it (a receipt), they're really good about fixing components.

I had had XT shifters that shit the bed after a year and a half--I guess some plastic ratchet wheel let go. I sent them in, and I got my shifters back within two weeks or so.
