My buddy and I decided to thru hike a small chunk of the Pacific Crest Trail close to me. We would hike from Echo Lakes off Highway 50 to Donner Pass off Interstate 80 (west of Lake Tahoe). We figured it would take about 3 days to tackle the 55ish mile chunk of trail. At least I thought it was 55 miles, turns out it was more like 67 and I had the car at the wrong exit point, giving us a total of 75 miles in three days. It was a lot of hiking but some beautiful scenery and a great way to spend time with a buddy I grew up with.
